These slides are not greased and do not have ball bearings, making it a slim slide, light weight as well as suitable for areas where shock and vibration is a factor. Solid bearing slides are available in a variety of options including lock out, detach and pivoting, the latter being often used for a computer keyboard.
All solid bearing friction slides are coated with Poxylube which is a dry film lubricant.
The key ingredient is molybdenum disulfide which is a mineral and suspended in resin coating.
The friction slides are therefore self-lubricating with the additional benefit of offering a minimum of 24 hours salt spray resistance under test condition ASTM B-117.
